New Mexico is such an incredibly special place. It’s a land of beauty and cultural diversity, of amazing food and people, and to many, like my family, it’s a place of opportunity.
I am the proud daughter of a construction worker and a house cleaner. My parents moved to New Mexico in search of a better life for my siblings and me. They are two of the most hardworking and loving people I know. I was raised between Albuquerque and Santa Fe and proudly became a first generation homeowner in Bernalillo four years ago.
I am the first in my family to graduate college, and the first Dreamer (DACA recipient) in the country to be appointed by the White House, where I served as Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Now, I am among a small handful of Dreamers in the country who are running for public office.
The day I received my U.S. Citizenship was one of the proudest days I can remember. It was the culmination of hard work and so many people’s dreams. I pledged that day that I would always work to ensure that others had the same opportunities and would do all I could for my community.
New Mexico needs our own version of The American Dream—a state where every child gets a world-class education, everyone has a place they can call home, and every New Mexican has professional, affordable healthcare. As someone who was undocumented, I know these building blocks must be in place to create success. I want to help build this New Mexico Dream for the families of Senate District 9.
I’m ready to get to work and I hope you’ll join me.
I look forward to meeting you and sincerely hope to earn your support.
Muchisimas Gracias,
